Memory Care Assisted Living
What:
Memory Care Assisted Living is a secure environment designed to care for people with memory conditions like Alzheimer’s, dementia, vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal lobe dementia, Parkinson’s related dementia, and so on. This is a locked community that prevents the elopement that is common with people who are experiencing memory decline, while also offering an opportunity to experience some of the privacy and comforts of home. Both private suites and studio apartments are available, creating a smaller environment that is better for people with this disease progression, and people living in this situation are encouraged to bring furniture and decor from home.
There is memory-specific programming available with scheduled frequencies throughout the day, creating an engaging environment that is helpful both physically and cognitively, specifically helping to offset Sundowning—a common condition that produces confusion/agitation during the late afternoon/early evening hours.
Who:
Anyone with a condition that results in a memory decline.
