The Suites is an assisted living community offering private suites with the reassurance of 24-hour support. The Veranda is our residential licensed memory loss center. Residents receive 24-hour care and support in private and semi-private rooms. In both communities, we customize care to meet individual needs. Our focus is on comfort, security, and creating a nurturing environment where our residents engage and thrive every day. Senior Suites of Urbandale is privately owned, not a chain. Our residents aren’t numbers, they’re family. We believe they deserve our very best. Our experienced staff delivers exceptional care with compassion and respect. line¶ Experience—Our entire management team has been with Senior Suites since the doors first opened more than 20 years ago. Many additional staff members have 10 to 15 years’ experience at Senior Suites. A legacy like that is hard to find in a care community. Over the years, our staff has become a family, and we are committed to ensuring our residents are part of that family. line¶ Care—At Senior Suites we are committed to high-quality, compassionate, and supportive care. Our nursing staff works closely with TeamMD. Dr. Ben Collins and his team of nurse practitioners are available by appointment with clinicians on call 24-hours a day. Podiatric care is provided by Dr. Gary Nutt; and audiologist, Dr. Dean Kayser, visits regularly assisting our residents with hearing loss. line¶ Compassion—We pride ourselves on delivering compassionate care and demonstrating the highest level of customer service—not just for our residents, but for their families as well. We strive to create a warm, engaging environment where residents feel safe and welcome. There is no need too small. We also believe in open and frequent communication with family. Our residents also participate in specialized activities and scheduled, supervised outings.
The Suites assisted living community balances privacy and independence with professional care and support, if needed. Each inviting private suite features a kitchenette with microwave, sink, and refrigerator; a roomy, accessible three-quarter bath; and plenty of open living space and storage. Respite Care Assisted Living—Quality care for you or your loved one. There may be times you want or need an assisted living environment for a short-term stay. You can rent a fully furnished apartment at a daily rate. Enjoy all the amenities of assisted living, meals, activities, socialization, nursing care (if needed), and peace of mind. Respite stays may last one night to four weeks. We have worked with respite stays for a variety of reasons. They have been utilized for winter stays, transition from hospital to home, home repairs/renovation, caregivers out of town or have other commitments. Whatever the reason, Senior Suites would love the opportunity to be part of your story.
The Veranda is our licensed residential memory care community specifically designed to address the needs of residents with dementia and memory loss.
At Senior Suites of Urbandale, we recognize each Veranda resident has a lifetime of interests, experiences, and habits. They each have a unique story. Preserving that story—keeping it familiar and close—while providing exceptional supportive, physical and social care is our highest priority.
Our caregivers are trained to provide 24-hour supervision, medication management, sensory stimulation, and personal prompting/cueing as needed. The care team also helps with activities of daily living like dressing, undressing, grooming, and bathing. Staff members keep resident rooms tidy, make beds and do laundry daily.
Veranda residents enjoy three delicious meals daily in their private dining room, with access to healthy snacks. They can participate in specialized activities and scheduled, supervised outings. Our private patio gives residents an opportunity to experience the Iowa sunshine and fresh air. Senior Suites of Urbandale is committed to ensuring Veranda residents are safe, respected, comfortable, well cared for, and loved.
Respite Care—Quality care for your loved one. Quality time for you. Providing full-time care for loved ones is a challenge. There are times you may be out of town or having a medical procedure and cannot be with them. For a daily rate, Senior Suites of Urbandale offers a short-term stay option in both The Suites and Veranda care communities.
